A Message from Michelle Belknap, President/CEO

Michelle BelknapReflecting on Easterseals-Goodwill’s 75 years of providing life-changing services, we’ve come a long way since 1947. What started as a small nonprofit organized by groups of volunteers in Montana to meet the needs of the late 1940s and 1950s has metamorphosed into what Easterseals-Goodwill is today: a large, stable nonprofit serving thousands of people across Montana, Idaho, eastern Oregon, Wyoming, and Utah.

The last 25 years in particular have been years of immense growth at Easterseals-Goodwill. Our organization has grown in the number of locations and the breadth of services we provide, as well as number of employees and people we serve. A little over a decade ago, we added the state of Utah to our territory, which has given us new opportunities, including employment services for older adults, early intervention programs, and the first Goodwill store in Utah.

Significant Goodwill store growth in the last decade has provided thousands of job training and employment opportunities, and strengthened our financial resources. We’ve expanded our programs to include statewide employment services for older adults in three states. Our program services continue to take care of people of all ages– from very young children in Early Intervention, to young adults with disabilities looking for work, to older adults needing specialized medical care to remain independent in their home, to end of life care through hospice. Even during this current pandemic, we have been able to continue these vital services for those most in need.

I am proud of what Easterseals-Goodwill has become. Today, we employ over 1,000 staff in 22 Goodwill sites and in 36 programs across 46 locations. With an audited revenue of over $76.7 million, Easterseals-Goodwill remains fiscally strong to meet the needs of future decades. We take great pride in our high quality, outstanding services that change lives.

Our donors, Goodwill shoppers, volunteers, advocates, employees, participants and their families, funders, and community partners continue to make this possible. As we look back on yesterday, we are also looking forward to how Easterseals-Goodwill will meet the challenges of tomorrow. As our communities change and grow, Easterseals-Goodwill will be here to meet the needs. Thank you for your interest in our organization, and I look forward to what the next 75 years will bring!
